Oath Below is made by Meter Fusion LLC ("we"). Contact: support@oathbelow.com.
The short version. Solo Expedition works without an account or internet connection. Online features use the account and gameplay data described below; optional gameplay statistics have a separate consent setting. We never sell your data, and the game has no advertising.
Playing offline
Your heroes, progress and settings are stored on your phone. Android may include them in your device backup if you have backup turned on.
Playing online
You need an account for online Oathbreak, ladders and online Expedition duo. Expedition LAN duo uses your local network and does not require internet access. When you use online services, we process:
- Account: a player ID created by Unity Authentication, linked to your Google Play Games or Google sign-in, and the display name you choose.
- Gameplay: match results, ranks, ladder progress, your online heroes and unlocks, your gem balance and the items you own.
- Connection and device data: your IP address, approximate region, network performance (ping), and installation or session identifiers needed by online services. This does not include GPS location or an advertising ID.
- Social features, when available: your in-game friends, friend requests, blocked players, online presence, party invitations and membership. If you use friend messaging, we process message text, sender and recipient IDs, timestamps and read status. Reports include the reported message and the reason you provide so we can investigate abuse. These features do not read your phone's address book.
Help improve the game (optional)
The first time you play, we ask whether you'd like to share gameplay statistics and crash reports. They're off unless you turn them on, and you can change your mind any time in Settings > Privacy. If you turn them on, we receive how far you got, which features you used, how the game performed on your device, and crash reports, tied to a random ID for this installation, not to your name or account. The service also processes technical information such as device and app versions and country derived from your IP address. Unity Technologies processes this for us. Turning it off stops collection, and Settings > Privacy > Delete my statistics asks Unity to erase the statistics that were sent.
Who processes this for us
These providers process data needed to operate the game. Information visible to other players is described below.
- Unity Technologies: accounts, cloud saves, leaderboards, social features including friend messages, online configuration and, if you opt in, gameplay statistics and crash reports.
- Photon (Exit Games): online connections and matchmaking.
- Edgegap: game servers.
- Google: sign-in and Google Play purchases. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
- Apple: App Store purchases when enabled on iOS. Apple's own privacy policy applies to your Apple account.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store when available on your platform. Verification uses the product, transaction and account-binding information, including purchase and refund status. We do not receive your payment-card details.
Other players
In online modes, other players see your display name, rank, cosmetics and your hero in the match. Ladder pages, in the game and on this website, show your display name, class, rank and best results. Friends can see your online presence; party members can see your party and ready status.
When friend messaging is available, it supports one-to-one text conversations between friends from the main menu or lobby, not during a match. Messages are delivered to the friend you select and stored by our online services; they are not end-to-end encrypted. There is no public, group or voice chat. You can block players and report messages. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
AI players
Online matches may include AI-controlled Oathbound to fill open seats. They never appear on the player ladders.
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics or trackers, and its fonts are served from this site. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which receives your IP address to deliver the pages, under GitHub's own privacy statement.
Children
Oath Below is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Keeping and deleting data
- We keep online data while your account exists.
- Friend messages are stored as a limited recent history, rather than a permanent message archive. Older messages can be removed as newer messages arrive. Abuse reports retain a separate copy of the reported message for investigation. Removing a friend or blocking someone restricts access but does not by itself erase stored messages or reports.
- You can request deletion using the Delete account page. It explains the in-game option, email contact and current limitations.
- Deleting your account removes your account identity, cloud saves, online heroes, gem balance, ownership records, friends and friend messages, and your ranks and ladder records from our online services. Copies of messages included in abuse reports are kept separately for investigation. A failed request is not a completed deletion; the game tells you when deletion has finished, and we confirm completion when you ask by email. Optional statistics have a separate deletion control.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data. Email support@oathbelow.com.
